After successful completion of exhaustive automotive & firing trials, Arjun MBT, produced at HVF, was inducted into the Services. Arjun MBT Mk I has been named as “Desert Ferrari” by tank experts. Its design began in 1986 and was finished in 1996. It entered service with the Indian Army in 2004. Arjun Mk-1A has 54.3% indegenious content against 41% in the earlier model. It is also known as “Hunter Killers”. The latest version of the tank is equipped with a massive 120mm rifled gun and Kanchan Armour, making it the most potent Armoured System in the inventory of the Army.
