Flagging of POH T-72 Tanks from VFJ

In a major impetus towards AVNL’s in meeting evolving operational requirements of the Indian Army, the first two T-72 tanks overhauled under a pilot project by Vehicle Factory Jabalpur (VFJ), a unit of Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), were flagged off on Wednesday, 28 January 2026. This project strategically expands the overhauling facilities available at Heavy Vehicles Factory (HVF), a Unit of AVNL. The tanks were flagged off by Lt Gen Amardeep Singh Aujla, PVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, Master General of Sustenance (MGS). The occasion was attended by Shri Sanjay Dwivedi, IOFS, ndc, Chairman & Managing Director, AVNL; Shri Satyabrata Mukherjee, Director (Operations and Additional Charge Director/HR), AVNL; Shri Praveen Kumar, Chief General Manager, VFJ; along with other senior officers and personnel from the Indian Army and AVNL. This milestone provides a significant impetus to AVNL’s ongoing efforts to enhance its capabilities and meet the aspirations of the Indian Army.
